Congrats Dave,  I know the joy you are experiencing. My daughter gave birth to our first grand child in November. If you are like me he had you

wrapped around his little finger from day one.

Well, having 3 grandkids, I know how they will affect your smoking meat budget.  "No rib roast this weekend, need to buy 2 new outfits..."... But honey, he's our GRANDson... we HAVE to spoil him rotten and get him a $800 swingset, I know he's only a month old but he'll grow into it!" ....  "The deck will have to wait.. I feel we need all new baby equipment... ouuu.. a crib!  ...the dressing table I never had! ....bassinet!... the deluxe high chair! .... well, we will have to babysit.. instead of an addition for a pool and game room... a big room where I can rock him... in a new barkalounger...  and new carpet so he can crawl around... oh! .. and if they have a little girl next?.. oh my!"

You'll be buying thrift packs of chicken leg quarters if you're lucky....!

You're right and I will be treating him as if he is my own since I will probably be the only grandparent he will have.
