I discovered this forum during a normally boring internet search.

The result was the purchase of a gas smoker just before Thanksgiving of 2011.

Since then, it's been pulled pork, brisket, ribs, pork shots, nuts and cheese. ( All of which were unbelievable!).

My wife never shops now without bringing home a brisket, pork butt or rack of ribs....the freezer is full.

My kids are constantly recommending new items to "Q".

My coworkers' first words are " what did you bring in?" each Monday.

My doctor has doubled my chlorestoral medication.

My beer quota is more than doubled and i am concerned about my wardrobe starting to shrink!

Are these concerns just mine or are others experiencing them too?

You will notice that I didn't say it was a problem, the truth is, I'm loving it!

Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge.

Hickorychip, morning... Well there is no point in talking about the possibility of getting addicted to smoking meats..... Glad you stopped in to the greatest forum on the web.... It's time you take some pictures and share your new found hobby with us folks here.... We love pictures.... Dave

Learn the basics and then get creative.  That's what makes this forum and hobby so much fun, you can try new things and worse case scenario is you have to eat your mistakes.

Noticed from your list you haven't tried poultry, fish, home made bacon and sausage.   So much to learn grasshopper.  Don't forget the Qview, that's the price of addiction.

This is a common and often found side effect of smoking - do not be concerned but know it is not going away anytime soon

Forgot the beer butt chicken. It was extremely good! I have the new grinder, casings and a pork butt ready for the next step. I guess I'm going to have to hone my photography skills?

Wait till you start photographing your smokes, then they want to have you committed, trust me on this.

Like the turtles in Finding Nemo - just ride the wave.  Really too bad you haven't gotten into this smoking thing
