That is pretty cool..... Looks like a UDS......I would think as long as it has air flow it would do fine....the wood in theory would insulate it too....

Used to be able to get barrels for a dime a dozen until they became Shabby Chick!

I sell clean barrels here for $25 dollars per. Open end style with the lid and bolt-on locking ring. From a food factory, only used once, from the factory. One guy bought three, to make meat smokers from. Should I raise my price so I can buy other cool stuff?

Oops, my bad. I just looked a the pictures---I was talking about steel barrels. I call these in the pictures "kegs."

I wonder about a charcoal fire in a wooden smoke barrel.  Might add new meaning to "smoke wood".
