Hello from Seattle everyone. Just wanted to drop in and say hello and thank you in advance. I have been trolling the forum for some time trying to gather as much info as I can. I have signed up for the smoking meat news letter as well as the ecourse. Can't wait to get started smoking. I will do more searching of the forums for the first smoker I purchase but if you want to say hi you can also leave a suggestion on what to get. An ECB or something a little more $. Don't know quite yet what I want. Thanks again and can't wait to be a part of this online community.

Welcome to SMF...glad you are here. Lot of smokers to choose from. I personally like the Kamado style kookers. Easy to regulate the temperature. Some folks loke electric for the same reason as well as set it and leave it feature on the electrics. Then you have the offset guys and the stick burners too. Propane is a favorite of some too so ya just need to search around and decide if you want to tend the fire or not. If you want hands off, electric is probably the way to go. I personally like the flavor and option with the lump coal  kookers. My next unit will be a Lang stick burner 36 patio...Lots of folks on here to give you pro's and con's of each...good luck and happy smokin...
