Somewhat new to smoking/outdoor cooking. I was forced into it after my home got flooded in hurricane Harvey. Lived in a camper for about a year. Lots of outdoor cooking after that. That’s turned into a bit of a habit. I now have a number of grills and smokers. Charcoal, propane and pellet. I also dabble in Dutch oven cooking.
I decided I wanted to build a smokehouse. A sort of temple or shrine to honor bacon. I wanted to be able to both hot and cold smoke. I’m hoping to put the heat source in the fire box to the left or directly inside the smokehouse on the right. There is a stove pipe connecting the two sides. The section in the middle is a table where I can light charcoal and cook with my Dutch oven.
I didn’t do much homework and just started building. Although it isn’t finished, it’s far enough along for me to share and get some feedback.
