I was supposed to work tomorrow. I have been working at the Home Depot getting leads for Four Seasons sun rooms and patio covers. I have been doing it for about 3 months, it is kinda a boring and mindless job, just set up a table and sit by the display and wait for people to ask for information and set appointments.

Well, the boss calls tonight at 6 pm and said the owner decided to shut down 3 stores and mine was one.

When I was hired I was getting 4 days 800 a month, then down to 2, 400 a month, and now none.

Oh, well just a sign of the times, how many people have 20k plus for a sunroom?

Life will get better, just wondering When.

Sorry, I just had to rant.

I feel your pain. It isn't getting any better any time soon I think. Hopefully I am wrong. Wish you luck finding what ever you can to replace that income.

I feel for you Ron. My business is real slow too. Gonna have to dip into savings this month. Don't worry too much, things will get better, they always do.
Maybe you should go with what you know & run another BBQ joint.

That Sucks Ron...

And the government says the economy is improving, tell that to all the people out of work...

There too Ron , there's not much call for sunrooms this time of year. Unless you live in Gnu Mexico of course.

I will send a small prayer your way.

It sure is a far cry from 3 or 4 years ago when every shopping mall in town had help wanted signs out.

There are small signs that its getting better or so the polititians say.

The economy is only improving for those who print the flyers that state "The economy is improving." ...Sorry to hear that Ron. My business is at less than 10% of what it was 3 years ago. As Red Green Says.. "I'm pullin' for ya. Were all in this together!"

Sorry to hear that, Ron. Been a tough hand to play out for you for quite awhile now. I guess you'll have more time to hopefully find something more meaningful as gainful employment...that does sound like a pretty slow gig to have had, but better than nothing.

I can't complain here...job's been pretty slow for over a year now, and picks up for short bursts now and then...I just feel good to have had a steady job that allows me to take care of the family as well as it has to this point. I truely wish we could all say that...maybe this economy will turn around sooner than most of us think.

Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya...keep your chin up & good luck!

My best to Carol, Yourself, and your lil' smokin' buddies!

Eric

Yep.I have not moved for that reason.Lost job for 3 weeks and was picked back up.

Good luck RON.

I hate where i live, but gov. work around here...

I was laid off one year and one week ago today (well Friday) so I feel your pain. I am still not working but am hopeful that things will turn around soon. Keep your chin up!

Man I'm sorry to here that Ron. You'll fine something else but unless the enconomy comes back and right now I hear them say we are gonna have a jobless recovery. Some recovery ha.

Ron I'm sorry to hear this, not good....Sending some prayers your way that things improve for you and the wife....

Obuma is flying around the world and Piglosi is forcing health care....Yeah, like they really care about us people......."NOT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, one good thing is that it's before the holiday season, not after it and much better chance of getting a seasonal job now. Check with most retailers and see if there's still positions left; I'm sure there must be some somewhere. Shine during seasonal and you get a better chance of moving to permanent in Jan. How about Sam's Club? Then you could get a discount on your next smoker!

That really sucks Ron...going to be a long winter for me as well. Nothing doing at the golf course, so I'm down to working just one morning a week for three hours. Won't get too far on that lol.

Keep your chin up bud...it's got to get better sooner or later.

So sorry to hear the news Ron~ hang in there, Been through it before and I can tell you it's no fun but there is a better job out there eventually.

Ron,

That bites. Keep a smile on and don't lose your faith. Good things happen to good people, and I'm sure your turn will be soon.

Sorry to hear that Ron.
Thank GOD for Social Security.

My son's hiring, but I guess you wouldn't want to climb 200 feet every day.
