I just want to say to all you guys on the east coast GOOD LUCK!

It looks like we may get close to hurricane force winds here in the middle of the state.

But so far it looks like you guys are going to get hammered.

I'm going to start bringing stuff in & tying stuff down today.

We have all the supplies & a generator.

The beer fridge is full of beer, so I guess we will be ready.

Stay safe guys!!

Al

Best of luck to all you guys in the path of this monster!!

Hopefully it won't be as bad as some of the predictions, but do what you gotta do to stay as safe as possible.

And Al---I sent you that email, before I saw this Thread.

Take Care---ALL !!

We just had a show cancel in Orlando. Highly unusual. Our trucks are getting out of Dodge right now (actually they should be in Georgia by now).

All of you down there, take care and keep in touch.

Good luck to you, Al. Looks like you may be in for a ride, but it sounds like you're prepared.

I just got an advisory update from the NHC saying that the sustained winds are down to 130 MPH with forward speed at 12 MPH.

As I recall, Sebring is about 70 miles from the coast. Part of the advisory stated the following: "Matthew currently spans some 700 miles, with hurricane force winds extending 40 miles from the storm's center and tropical storm winds extending some 160 miles outward."

I'm supposed to fly into Miami Friday morning and the flight updates still show arrival as "On Time". Who knows.

Hang in there. You have a generator (hopefully with gas), and beer. You should be good.

Stay safe.

Yea Al... hunker down... get all the gas you can for Gen set ... top all vehicles off too (can siphon from them if need be) ... fill tub with water and if any appliances run on propane/natural gas turn off main shut off valve ... good luck brother...

I'm on the gulf coast so it won't be so bad for me... but I did fill all gas cans and vehicles with gas for gen set ...

Praying for EVERYBODY to be safe

I guess this one has the potential to be a real monster storm...Keep your head down Al! To all our friends in Florida, and all along the Atlantic coast...praying for you all to stay safe! And like Charlie said, please check in when you can to let everyone know that your OK.

. Hope im not riding this tommorow to work.

Stay Safe to all. We do not get this type of thing in the UK, so it's hard to visualise.
Here's an visual for you of an enhanced infrared image taken from a NASA satellite as the hurricane passed over Haiti yesterday morning. Looks like Mother Nature's pissed off.

Looks like this bad boy is getting stronger & the tracks are a little more to the west.

This may even get to you guys on the west coast. It's going to be a wild ride tonight & tomorrow morning.

Glad I don't live in Ft. Lauderdale anymore.

Saw a little earlier today that sustained speeds are back up to 140MPH, and well into Cat 4 territory (130-156MPH). The speed should increase somewhat as it gets over the warmer Gulf Stream currents. I've had the (dis)pleasure of meeting the 4 most recent majors in Florida, (Andrew, Charley, Frances, Wilma), and Matthew is definitely a contender.

One probability model I saw has it moving North to around Savannah then doing a U turn and returning for a repeat visit. Oops!

Keep your head low and stay safe.

Man did we luck out!

The storm took a little jog to the east & it was enough to keep us out of most of it.

So far there hasn't been anything worse than what we get every afternoon in the summer.

A few thunderstorms & some gusty winds. No damage or power outages around here.

Hope you guys on the east coast are doing OK too!
