Didn’t know there was a contest or I’d have posted my doe back in September! Here she is anyway…..

Didn’t have in mind to take a pronghorn doe, but my days were getting limited… and my pride I set aside years ago. My intention with hunting is meat in the freezer. If some horns come along with it…. great! But my intent again is meat. Also, since the wreck I was in… I have not been myself and my energy level is just not what it used to be.

That being said, this was a muzzleloader hunt. Seen some awesome bucks, trophy type… but some dipshit at the exact time I had a shot was in the way… we hunt remote and hardly ever see anyone. Well, just my luck… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anyway, very thankful for the meat. I will show my doe and one of the bucks I was after.

I do always take a few minutes and thank the animal for providing some meat for my fam. I do believe it’s an important part of respect for the animal.

And one of the buck I had my eye on… maybe next year if I can draw again.

I'm with you brother meat in the freezer!
And congrats on the harvest!
Never seen a pronghorn so what's the est weight on that one ? What's their main diet source?

Keith

Keith, thanks bud. When we dragged her out, I’d say she was 175ish before gutting.

Most Pronghorn around here are desert dwellers! So maybe not the tastiest meat?!

I have permission on some private land and they eat the hay fields…

Congrats Justin like Keith I've never seen one in person. I also agree with you on them horns they don't taste good so I'm after meat
