I'm not sure why but the hunk of meat I put on the smoker didn't turn out. What did I do wrong? I burnt wood and charcoal but the hunk of meat failed.

"yeah, I read what you guys told me to do, but my great-uncle's aunt Mary told my cousin eddie that I needed to do it another way, so you guys were wrong"

"Why does my meat suck?"

OK, This is a joke, DS is going somewhere with this.
I'm getting really tired of the help me out posts that don't include enough information to direct the person. So many posts are just to vague. There is too much information left out to give a good answer.

1. Tell me what you didn't like or what went wrong

2. Type of smoker

3. How you set up your smoker and conditions  (minion method, full lit basket, wood, fuel, blowing ninety, snowing, raining,).

4. What were you smoking (specific cut).  Not I failed cooking ribs or my beef was dry.

5. Specific method of how you prepared the cut prior to cooking. Did you marinate it, inject it, brine it, drag it through a mud puddle?

6. How you went about cooking (temp, times, rest time after cook, etc.). Not I put it in the smoker and pulled it out and it was dry and the skin was black and we ate it like cavemen (fully acceptable practice at hunting camp).

Frustrating.

OK, now I'm embarrassed about the dumb posts I've made...

SmokeyMose

This post I not intended to make anyone feel embarrassed or stupid.

The intent is to hopefully get people to post detailed posts when asking questions.

I work in a very detail oriented environment and if I have a question to bring to the table I need to be as detailed as possible.

I also deal with many questions a day where I have to ask more questions to give a proper answer.

With that said, the more info provided in the initial post will help those trying to answer. Otherwise we're all just stabbing in the dark and trying to fill in the blanks!

Hey Case,

Did you wrap that hunk of meat?  It looks like it could have used some wrapping, maybe even some butchers twine.
