Howdy everyone!
My name is Colton Pepper. I am active duty Navy and I am currently stationed at Ft. Meade, MD. I am originally from the heartland of Wichita, KS. I love smoking everything. If I think a hot dog would be good smoked, I'll be the one to try it! :sausage: I have so far smoked about 90 lbs of pork, 20 lbs of spare ribs and 30 lbs turkey. I haven't smoked brisket yet on account it is a little pricey here ($4.95 per lb). I am starting up a little BBQ meat "to-go" business out of my own kitchen for people on Ft. Meade sometime this weekend.
Before my grandfather passed away, he was the family grill and smoke master. I hope to pick up where he left off. He is where I learned the basics on how to smoke meat and he is also the one who gives me the inspiration to continue doing this. There is NOTHING like smoking meat and seeing your friends and families faces light up...
I currently use a Brinkmann Gourmet electric smoker and have full intentions of upgrading very soon. I would really like to get a propane smoker but I am still doing my research. I will be doing some snooping around on here to see what people think and what their opinions are on each smoker. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and learning from everyone here. My teacher has since passed so I will be lookinghere everyone here for advice.
