There is heavily seared, there is Pittsburgh Blue and there is just plain burnt.
That is burnt, way overcooked and just a waste.

And I say that even tho I sometimes like a charred steak.
Texas style. Charred outside rare to med rare inside.

Our neighbor would love that steak, if it isn’t super well done, dry, & chewy she won’t eat it. So we just nuke the crap out of her meat & she loves it!

Was at a steak house with my late Father in law one time . They asked how he wanted his steak . He said " Knock the horns off wipe it's a-- and put it on the plate "

Trot it over, I'll cut off what I want and ride the rest home.

Pull the meat burnt and all. Then put it in a blender with a little onion powder, garlic powder, sour cream and a touch of Worcestershire or Soy sauce. Serve it on a cracker.

To each their own I guess… but this would never be done by my fam or myself… we are medium rare all day on steak!

That being said, my folks have a friend that likes her steak annihilated… if it doesn’t look like a hockey puck she will not eat it! I have never understood it personally!
