How often should you change out the sand

I have a vert. gasser and have filled the pan with play sand covered by foil. How often should i change out the sand and should i add any water to the sand?

No water just sand. As long as no drippings are getting in it should be good forever.

I wouldn't add any water to the sand. As for changing it out-as long as it stays covered with foil and doesn't get any drippings on it, it should be fine for a very long time. Hope that helps.

I have been using a gasser for many years now and I have never used sand in my water pan. I would guess you shouldn't have to change it out for along time. That's my pennies
