How do I get cripsy chicken legs?

I've started using legs instead of wings because I can get them cheaper.  I marinade either regardless.  I can't get them to crisp up.  I also sauce them afterwards.
 
Higher temp pit, 350 min and up. If you sauce after you'll be sogging out whatever crispness you have. Unless you deep fry them then lightly sauce.

What they said, or.......I have skinned them ,rubbed them, and wrapped in prosciutto. I posted a thread on prosciutto wrapped chicken legs. They turned out great! Just an idea! Happy smokin', David.
 
High heat (300*F or up to 350*F , dry skin well with a rest  in the Refer, no oil or coating, before cooking and no sauce before eating.
