how do i clean up smoker?

was using amazing pellet tray and smoker fabricated from old gas grill  was given smokey mtn electric smoker has some mold in it how should i clean it before use the price was right free looking forward to using new (used ) unit thanks

Simple Green works to clean it up. Follow with a wet rag and heat at full blast an hour or two.,,JJ

Chef JJ has you started good to get it clean. After its clean, I would spray it good with a cooking oil and heat it up again to get it re-seasoned.

My Smoke Hollow electric was pretty grimy, racks and  all. Got out the pressure washer and cleaned completely.

let it dry and coated with oil, then smoked. No adverse effects noticed.

If not right, please correct me.
