Morning walk with the dog turned into a bonus. Stumps that I know produce the odd honey mushroom (Ukrainian Mushroom Pidpenky) were just loaded this morning. Picked cleaned and now getting processed. Only one large one was attacked by worms. Still lots coming up and that will be tomorrows pickings as they grow supper fast over night.

These are all found in the church yard behind me and at the end of my property. I just read in the news the other day I guess people are out in restricted areas picking mushrooms LOL

"

Fungi felons beware: harvesting mushrooms in conservation areas illegal

The Lakehead Region Conservation Area wants to remind the public that removing natural material from protected areas is against the law and can net a $155 fine."

I've never had them but would likely love them. I love morels but suck finding them. I've considered looking for Golden Oyster but never get around to it.

Funny thing was I had planned on going to one of my trout fishing lakes that had trees harvested about four years ago. Mushrooms like old rotting stumps and thought about going see if any action there and then found these. Way more then I need. So I saved some gas and and shoe leather :)

Wow what a score! I love mushrooms but also suck at finding them!
As a kid I just went with my parents as I was not much of a mushroom lover but grew out of it in my adult years. Ukrainian family and we pick mushrooms like polish people do from the old country. Honey mushrooms are easy to identify. I dehydrate all of mine and turn them into mushroom powder for adding to recipes.
I have never seen a year like this year with so many and close to where I live.
Here is a good place to start if picking them.

Last 9 trays in the dehydrator. Almost two full Mason jars of mushroom powder. Going start a small jar and add cocoa powder and mushroom powder to it for my morning coffee pick me up.
