I got a Hobart 311 slicer this summer. Motor ran, but blade didn't turn. Discovered the old fiber gear had worn out. No parts to be found from Hobart or on internet. Part number 13396, (25t-14p). I found a machine shop that specializes in gears, and it can be reproduced, but set up cost is over $1,000. Any other sources I should try? Or should I bite the bullet and have it made? Is there any interest in making several gears, as the set up cost is the big expense?? I may have 5 made if anyone else needs one. Thanks!!!

Might check with these guys if you haven't already . Even if they don't have it , they might have a work around .
I just checked with them. No luck. Even Hobart said parts were long discontinued. I wonder how I might find if anyone else needs a gear if I have them made?

Troll Craigslist or Facebook market place for used slicers/parts,you never know you might get lucky.

There's one sitting out there somewhere . 1K would buy a nice new slicer and some other stuff , but I get the restoring old stuff . I do it myself . I've found if I wait and keep looking I find what I need .
If you decide to spend the re tool money , get enough made to sell and get some of that back ,,, maybe .

They make some pretty strong 3D filament nowadays.
You can even print and end up with 316 Stainless for the final part.
Go to "Matterhackers" to get more information.
