The numbers I use are.....

 Diameter x Diameter X 0.7854 x height = volume........ 

A different way to get to the same place.......
 
Here is the formula to figure the volume of a tank.   pi times the radius squared times the length.   pi = 3.1416    Radius is half the diameter
