Rookie, morning..... Have you looked at smokers that our members have built to find a design you like.....   find one and we will go from there.... When building a RF smoker, there is a starting point.....   that is the height and width of the RF plate and the CC to FB  opening.....  The size of the CC determines those parameters....   Sooooo......   what is the size of your tank...  length between the welds if it a propane tank, the diameter, the gallons capacity if on a label...   In my signature line are some links that may be helpful to you.....

  6. Hi Dave yea been looking on here a lot. Put the tank size in the BBQ calculator. And ready to start.

  7. Dave best I can tell off the plate it's a 58 gallon.

  8. Will have to check length. I can't remember want to say its 33-34 inches

When measuring propane tanks, usually there are 2 volumes.....  Water volume and propane volume to consider....  when tanks are filled with propane, they are usually filled to 80% capacity or something like that....  It's the water (real volume) that is used to figure the smoker calculations....  So taking real measurements is important to know what the size of the tank is......   Dave

Jason, morning......    Who are you ??????   I'm trying to help Smoking Rookie with his build.....  If you are looking to build a smoker, please start a new thread in the forum that best describes your ideas for a smoker......  probably "Reverse Flow Builds"......

Well Jason, morning..... You confused the [email protected] out of me......  Of course, as you can see, that don't take much......     Looks like a 60 gallon tank....  I will run some numbers when I get a chance......

Bottom of the stack about 2"-3" above the food grate and that puts the top of the cut about 8"-10" above the food grate, with either of the 2 designs...

  19. Thanks.

  20. Useful tool ........................  This way you can figure your tank yourself without guessing

To find out how many gallons multiply your cubic feet x 7.48.     1 cu. ft = 7.48 gal
