I have to post fast as my husband keeps walking by. He wants a new smoker with fathers day coming up I figured it was a no brainer. Oh I was wrong. He looked at a Oklahoma Joe in store but what model? off set? I want to stay under $500. Any thoughts, advise or input would be appreciated. Thanks

Unless your husband is set on an offset smoker, you won't go wrong with a Weber Smokey Mountain smoker/grill.  It's versatile, high quality, and works well.  The largest is the 22" unit and it would be about $100 below your budget.  I've never read anything about  a problem with the WSM (as it's referred to).  Give it a thought.

Unless your Husband is dead set on an offset go with the Webber Smokey Mountain charcoal smoker. I don't think that for $500 you could buy an offset smoker that is worth a damn. I know there out there but with the mod's and work you would have to put into making good food. I would go with the Webber.

For $500 you can get the WSM 22.5 for smoking & a Weber kettle for grilling.

Very well built & easy to use right out of the box!
