Hello everyone!

I've been lurking these forums for maybe a month and a half, and I guess my wife caught me. For Christmas, she got me a Char-broil Electric water smoker. I can't wait to try it out!

I know many of you use charcoal smokers, but I was wondering if anyone is using this electric smoker, and if they have any suggestions for making it work its best.

Howdy Steve. I have gas & charcoal smokers & grills, no electric so I really can't say from experience. The element may not be able to heat the smoker up in extreme cold bit some folks buy an insulated jacket that slips over the smoker to help. I've hear of folks putting wood chunks in direct contact with the element to get the smoke going while others use a foil pouch for chips. Hopefully some else that owns similar equipment will be along shortly.
