I've been lurking on here for a few weeks now. I've been researching smokers and reading all the helpful advice. Finally decided on the MES 40" model 20070311 and picked it up last night. Next purchase will be the A-MAZE-N smoker...probably the 6x8.
I've never smoked anything before, but I think I've come to the right place to learn how. Hopefully, I'll be doing my first smoke in about a week...thats when my turkey season opens in Michigan!

Be sure to put a general location on where you are located in your profile this helps us when answering questions you might have.

Also for those of you new to smoking,  Get a good Probe Thermometer as we smoke by Temperature NOT TIME.

A good choice for a remote dual probe thermometer is the Maverick ET-732

Be sure to chack out the MODS for the MES40 and get you a temp probe as most of the ones that come on them are off by as much a 10-30 degrees.
