Hello all from the Northeast. My names Mike & I live in Massachusetts near the New Hampshire border. I've been BBQ'ing for many years and started trying my hand at smoking a few years ago. I started out using a smoker packet on my grill using an indirect method of cooking keeping the temps low. I've done about 6 full briskets that way and they all came out great. Last year I bought a new Brinkman grill and it has a small smoker cabinet built in. I've used this quite a few times and have done a couple of briskets & pork shoulders in it and it works pretty good. I also did some 1/2 pound hamburgers in there with a rub on them & they were fantastic. I love to cook and I make my own pasta from scratch & I've just recently started making fresh sausage. I did a fresh Polish kielbasa and a chicken, spinach & feta. They both turned out great. I also brew my on beer. Whew! I need to retire soon so I'll have more time to keep up with all my hobbies. I'm currently looking at getting a dedicated smoker so I can start smoking my homemade sausages. I'll be posting a lot of questions in the other forums looking for advice on which one to get. From what I've been reading on here so far it looks like I found the right place.

Hello Mike, welcome to the forum!  Sounds like you have a lot of enjoyable hobbies.  Yes, retire, I did and am enjoying every minute!  Hope you will share some of your experiences with us, we may be able to pick up a few ideas for ourselves.  There is a lot of excellent experience here, I have learned a lot, and learn something new almost every time I visit.  Steve
