I would not say I am an old pro but thanks. I have been smoking a while and I really enjoy it. It is really nice to have some other enthusiasts to talk to. It will be nice to read what some other folks do. Up til now I have just been randomly finding folks here and there to talk to.

That mainly consists of a lot of "remind me to not try that again" and finding what other folks have screwed up on. That kind of leaves all the stuff that works and it gets pretty easy at that point.

Best advice I can give is go to your local contests and find the trailer you like best. Then just stand around close by and talk about anything to anybody nearby. Sooner or later the trailer boss will come by and offer some pearls of wisdom on smoking/bbq-ing. Then have a really good memory or a tape recorder.
