Howdy,
I have been lurking in the forums for a few weeks, and keep seeing people being yelled at (In jest) to hit Roll Call up and introduce themselves. Figure it was time for me to come out of the shadows and say hello and give some insight as to who I am!
I love to grill and cook. For the last 15 years I have been doing all the cooking and trying to cook dishes from all over the world. I am the guy that's in a foot of snow breaking out the grill on my deck and grilling in the middle of winter! (Yes, my wife thinks I am nuts, however I think this is perfectly normal and acceptable!) I just recently got myself a new grill and 2 smokers.
My new Grill is a 3 Embers 4 Burner Radiant Grill
My Smoker is a Masterbuilt 30" Propane (Wood Chip)
My Other Smoker is a Traeger Junior Elite (Pellet)
I just Ordered an iGrill2 with 3 probes, and the 4th probe for ambient temp.
I am NEW to smoking (I have only smoked 2 racks of ribs (One Pellet and 1 Chip) and smoked a chicken in the Traeger. I am trying learn to smoke things (which is how I found this forum) My first rack of ribs (on the Masterbuilt) were really tough, and my 2nd rack (on the Traeger) were much better and moist, but not fall off the bone.
Also, my wife just had a heart attack, so I am have gotten a lot of insight about low/no salt rubs, and ways to get away from salt brines.
As for me, I am a Web Developer, and Home Automation designer/programmer/installer. (Google/Samsung Developer).
