Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
I 'm a new member of the group. I live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma which is the 4th largest city in the state and a suburb of Tulsa. I've lived in the Tulsa area for all but a little over 2 years of my life which was divided between Idaho and California. I'm an Army Veteran and work in the Telecommunications industry as a Customer Service Representative. I'm with a wonderful lady and wouldn't trade her for the world. I have a Brinkmann Gourmet Charcoal (vertical, water) smoker that I received as a 10yr anniversary gift from my employer in 2010. I have smoked chicken, turkey, ham, country style ribs, bologna, pork roast and brisket so far on my smoker. The brisket was Christmas dinner this past Christmas, I got up at 3:45AM to start the process. It was my first attempt at brisket and I think for what I have it turned out decent.

I would eventually like to get a horizontal smoker but at the current time they are out of my price range. I would welcome any tips on making modifications to my current smoker to make it more effective.  I look forward to learning more on the art of smoking here at this wonderful group.
