HI :emoji_boy:

I've had a Hobart 1512 (with grinding attachment for sharpening) for quite a few years. Use it for slicing smoked eye of round mostly.

Posted a question about the sharpening stones resisting rotation and hope someone can help.

Hello from NW Minnesota! There's so much activity here on the Forum, you might try a search for similar posts, to find the right help. Good luck!

Welcome from NW Iowa. Does the sharpening stone turn easily by hand? You might have to take it off the shaft and clean and lube the bushing. I would lube it with cooking oil.

Tks for the welcome.

Actually, cooking oil is bad for that purpose as it will turn gummy. I have a feeling the previous owner(s) did that.

Mineral oil is the recommended oil (per Hobart). They have since suggested that to me. My only issue is actually getting it in that space (between axle and sleeve). They suggested just letting it seep in over a period of time. Obviously, it's a REALLY tight fit.
