Hello from Kansas

Hi all, Robert here in Wichita, KS. Originally from north Texas but a woman abducted me and here I reside. I have zero experience smoking other than whatever is naturally imparted to Texans at birth. I have a new Old Country Pecos offset smoker that has produced very flavorful ribs and one brisket although none were very tender. I've scanned this site for the past month as I prepared to buy a smoker and this is my first post. I've access to just about every wood in quantity and a very forgiving wife to taste test. I like the friendliness of the board and I hope I can add something in the future. In the mean time I'll continue to study the accumulated knowledge and improve my skills... Two boys Augustus (3) and Samuel (1) one Rhodesian Ridgeback - Hobbes (7). Glad to meet all of y'all.
