I just had to get that itch scratched. But, it'll be a looong time before I buy it for 37.00 a pound again. If at all.

Nothing wrong about treating yourself now and then . Heck all that cash back enabler income needs to be spent somehow !

IMO totally worth around $10/lb. Ribeyes are $21lb... If you can believe it I paid $5/lb for mine as was on the reduced. $37 not THAT bad. Just found this place and is like 45m from me!

I thought that until I had one . I think some of it comes from guys that used to get it for under 2 bucks a pound .

I cooked tri-tip twice, to 135F, cut against the grain. Used Santa Maria rub. Okay, but it didn't make me want to cook it again.

If I get it cheap, it is a versatile meat. I like it cooked brisket style and cured into pastrami more than a rare roast.
