Columbus, Ohio
Hey Gang,

We extended our winter RV trip from to Arizona. This is our first time driving through this part of the country. So we are stopping at unique and interesting places along the way.
First time staying at 7000' in the Arizona high desert. Very different from Ohio and east coast locations.
Any recommendations for restaurants / sights Kansas City, St. Louis? I70 to Columbus Ohio? Need not be BBQ place, just good food reflecting the area. I looked at the reviews here and Hi Boy Burger Place is on the list. https://www.hiboydrivein.com/
Thanks to @MileHighSmokerGirl

Any other suggestions?

RG

The Hill section of St. Louis is an old time Italian neighborhood . Some great eats and markets down there , but not really 5th wheel friendly . EDIT : Plus it would be out of the way . I'm at 70 and old 79 . The hill is about 45 minutes from me .

This is a place we like to go out for Italian . Right off 70 at Zumbehl . Big parking lot , so if you're in the 350 with the 5th wheel , be room to park / turn around .
Foods legit if looking for Italian .

They also have another place , that's new . I haven't been there , but the kids go . So not sure of the access , but it's off 70 also .

Another one right off 70 . It's our go to for pizza , but they have great pasta's and sausage too .
The parking for the store is tight , but theres plenty of room to park at the strip mall behind it . Just be a short walk . I park there myself , just because it's easier .

Chop, thanks for the recommendations. When we do these detours we usually park the trailer and detach our truck. We keep the trailer near the highway, 13'4" height. I try to make these stop overs 2-3 days. I haven't gotten a camp site in St. Louis yet. We like to keep things fluid. Thanks again

Carnivor steakhouse on the hill in st louis was fanatic when we stopped by a few years ago. Busy area, really busy on a weekend night. The food though, good enough that I mention it.

Rich I didn't realize you were so close to St Peters. The company I retired from had a plant there . I led the team that implemented SAP at the site in I think 1997. The plants general manager took us to lunch most days at a bar and grill nearby. I think it was called The Duck or something like that.

I wasn't sure what the plan was . With that in mind you could atleast hit some Markets down on the hill , and grab a sandwich for lunch . You get in the area , and there's all kinds of options .

Plenty of places to get a sandwich down there , and around me . Gioias is a good one , but just about any place will make you a sandwich . Grab a couple for the road .

Depends on what your into , but St. Louis has one of the higher rated free zoo's . In the same area as the hill .

This map shows the area of the Zoo , and north end of the Hill .
Amigehtti's is right there too . They make a good sandwich , but they all do .

Yeah , I'm 3 miles north of 70 . North east edge of Ofallon , but I'm on the edge of St. Peters .
called The Duck or something like that.
Doesn't sound fimiliar . Remember where it was ? I mean , Construction works give direction by tavern locations . Like " Go past DB's and make a left . About 2 blocks from Little Nick's "

@radioguy, I'd love to make some suggestions for KC. We have so many great places to go I need a lil more info. You said it doesn't have to be BBQ but what, generally, are you looking for? Also, KC is quite spread out so if you know where home base will be that would help too.
