I recently borrowed a friends MES, and the flavor was so good, I had to buy one. I got the 20070409 with 4 racks and digital control. I have been very happy so far with the performance of this product, with 7 smokes under my belt with it. I transplanted to Midwest 6 yrs ago after being born and raised in Texas, and have been very distraught with the lack of what I would call "real" barbecue here. I hope that I can now recreate those yummy tastes of Texas!

I don't see my smoker being used by any others here in this forum, but I hope that I can contribute as well as learn from you folks in the future.

At the moment I am preparing to do my first brisket in the unit, and would appreciate any hints along theway. I am well versed in charcoal smokers, but have never owned an electric one before.

Thanks in advance for the assistance!
