My name is Matt, I'm new to smoking but have burned my share of burgers on the old charcoal Weber. A pair of friends and myself recently came across this smoker at a garage sale and went in on it, got it real cheap (hope that is not a bad sign). Have not seen many smokers like this, it is on a trailer and is not offset like many of the smokers I have seen used. Its a vetical smoker with a fairly large firebox, don't know much more about it and i assume it is a custom job but we look forward to the adventure!

I've already learned a lot on this site and I decided to step up and make a profile now that I've got a smoker I can call my own, thanks in advance for your knowledge and your generosity to share it.

Hi Matt!

to SMF!!! We're happy to have you! I'm not familiar with that smoker but have seen pics of some similiar so I'm sure someone will be able to help you with it. You might want to start a thread in "Charcoal Smokers" with more questions to get better exposure to your questions. There are lots of great people here who just love to help each other! Since you are new to this you might want to check out Jeff's Free 5 day E-course, it will teach you all the basics and a whole lot more: http://www.smoking-meat.com/smoking-basics-ecourse.html  The search bar at the top can be your best friend when you want to find something out fast.
