I hope this can remain civil but its an interesting thing i've noticed as almost all I see exclusively is the MB 560 posts, so what do you think, has the WSM finally been dethroned?

Probably not, but the WSM is old school, familiar news, and will last for decades even when abused by the weather. Grates are just about the only things that will need to be replaced occasionally. Simple to use with a short learning curve and creates near offset flavor. Nearly hands-off. Nothing can really fail. Yawn. Even though I'm a major WSM advocate, what can you say that hasn't already been said?

The MB560 is new. Folks like new toys. Time will tell how the electronics and the guts hold up.

I was a stick burner forever. I was looking at a pellet smoker for convenience when I started reading up on the 560. A few months in and countless cooks it would take alot to pry this one from me.

I'm also a huge WSM fan, especially with my party q, it feels like cheating. I am certainly curious about the longevity of the MB units though, but like you said, i guess time will tell us.

I agree with the above, I’ve had a WSM/Guru setup for 7 or 8 years & it still works just like the day I bought it. I’m wondering about the electronics on the 560. As said above, only time will tell. But it sure looks like Weber is selling a ton of them.
