I've had a low tolerance for it my whole life and I never understood those who love it extra hot. To me it's like hitting yourself in the head with a hammer, why do it if you know it's going to hurt?
I think there is a difference between hot flavor and pain.
I like the sensation and still being able to taste the flavor of the peppers.
If someone is into the pain aspect, we'll that is another topic....
Went into a Thai restaurant in Syracuse last fall.
Ordered my food and asked for it spicy, according to the options on the menu.
The waitress asked "Do you want it Thai spicy, or white spicy?"
I laughed and asked for Thai spicy.
When they brought out my food, I noticed the waitress and the cooks watching me take the first bite.
So funny!
It was spicy and hot, just as I'd expected.
I guess to sum it up, my heat level is the highest I can tolerate while still tasting the pepper without feeling any discomfort.
I am at the point now where Habenaro meets that mark, where previously it had been Ghost.
Don't know why there was a change in my case.
