I Saved the bone with a decent amount of meat on the top from the Easter ham. Now it's time for ham & beans.
The wife tossed it in the crockpot this morning with some dry pintos that my boss brought me from one of the farms in Pueblo. Diced up a little more ham from the leftovers, and really that's about it. The ham was the same as I smoked for Easter so all the flavor is already there. Not really necessary to add anything, in my opinion.

Thanks for lookin...

Rice is a good idea too, I'll have to put that in the tool belt.

Most times we do fry bread but didn't have time today. But a good corn bread, would fit right in.

Love me some soup beans, pass a bowl this way.

Thanks for sharing. I still have one ham bone frozen from Christmas to do. I add a chopped onion that dissolves, couple finely diced jalapenos that dissolve, couple shakes of Tobasco, and black pepper. Everyone's taste buds are different.

I have found soaking my beans overnight, then rinsing several times seems to relieve the gas situation quite a bit for me.

Lately I have been doing my cornbread in the waffle iron. Lots more crispy edges. Thanks for posting.

I've been known to mix it up now and then, for sure. Just decided to go with the ole simple classic for this run.
