and some fried Pierogies and sour cream you got the perfect fall trifecta.

Grandma called it "Smetana", mixing Ukrainian, Polish, and English as she spoke.

Not sure how many know what Haluski is...Fried Cabbage and Onions with Noodles. Staple food in my house. Dad would hand make Kluski but I just use Bowties or Egg Noodles. Fried Pierogie and fish are the main course at the Christmas Eve Wigilia...JJ

My wife makes the best Halupky, very similar recipe, but baked with sauerkraut tomato mix. Spot on with mashed taters side.

JJ Haluski is also a favorite at this house.

Holy cow! Very late to this party....
The family I work for is all Ukrainian.
I have been with them for 17 years now.
I have since found a grand fondness for GOOD cabbage rolls and perogies.
