Some of the links on this forum allow SMF, at no cost to you, to earn a small commission when you click through and make a purchase. Let me know if you have any questions about this.
We are going to open the groups up soon for all to use but I wanted to just allow a handful at first and let us do some testing on them to see how they work. We have had them in place for a while but never really got around to using them.
I think they will be a huge asset to the community and give folks a way to stay connected with other folks of the same interest, in the same areas, etc.
The ones that are there now should allow you to "join" as a member then you will be able to post in it. Let me know if you can't find it and I will try to help you further.. I'm still sort of learning myself so it might be the blind leading the blind
If you click on a thread in a group that you are not a member of, hit the Reply button as usual and a box will pop up asking you if you would like to join.
Press the "Join" button in the bottom right corner and you'll then be able to post as a member of that group from then on or until you opt to leave the group.
The new posts/threads will show up in the activity feed like everything else but the actual list of groups (which I think is what you are referring to) will be listed at http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/groups and we will have a link to that up top soon.
