THe product we had been using (spray 9 grill cleaners) is no longer available. It worked well for us.

Any suggestions on a cleaning product?

I have cast iron.

I bought a weed burning propane torch, not this one but similar. Works very well on all of my smoker and grill grates.

I used to clean with various degreasers and soap and water. Never again.

I use a power washer once a yr than plain'ol Simple Green once or twice a yr as needed.

Warm the smoker up, warm not hot, then I spray it down with S.G. let stand for 30 minutes than I rinse it off with my power washer.
