Mines 40 miles but we make the journey twice a month
It's not all "Sams" fault, in my case. If I had room for a freezer, or more storage space, period, I would make the trip.

Not worth the trip if I can't shop for more than a couple days or a week.

Thanks for the like JCam.

Sam's is 4-5 minutes away, just like everything else, we love our location, secluded yet near everything. Sam's lets the oldies like me in at 7am on Tuesday and Thursday. Last week I got there at six and was #7 in line, when I came out at 7:30 the line was 200 yards long. Costco is a half mile away, they don't do anything for anyone. I do get pork belly at Costco, only reason we belong to both. RAY

Ray, I just found out about this, check it out.

I live right between Costco and Sam's both less than 10 minutes from my home.
I've always been a Costco member but just might give Sam's a chance with this basically free membership.

Can anyone give me insight on what the benefits would be to get a membership? My wife and I are considering it.

I checked prices and it appears Walmart’s are actually cheaper, so that’s why I am asking. Walmart is 15 minutes from us whereas Sam’s Club is 45 minutes from us.

Thanks Dan! Looking at the line in that picture is kind of scary. Now that both Costco and Sam's are limiting the number of people that can be inside at any given time one would still want to show up well before tee-off time. We have the premier membership at Sam's, which before the pandemic allowed up to shop starting at 7am, well before the rest of the folks were allowed in at ten. One of the aspects I like most about Sam's is the self checkout, never have to stand in line more than a minute or two. Now that my freezers are full and I've got a closet full of toilet paper I'll just wait and see if things ever go back to the way they were, or if this is going to be the new normal. The longer this goes on it the more it feel like there will never be a normal again. RAY

Nice find, Jeff. Thanks for posting.
I clicked on the link and it doesn't appear to be tied to getting the Sam's credit card as past offerings of "save $...".

Very good question. One I have to ask myself every year when renewal comes up.
Now with daughter and son out of the house, and the changing inventory of local Sam's (60 mile RT) we rarely break $100 on a monthly trip. Plus after a Costco opened (160 mile RT) we shop way more there.

My suggestion, try the new membership deal. Walk the store to get an idea of what they stock, but don't purchase anything until the rebate loads on your card and make sure to purchase enough to get your money back.
