Where to begin?
Name: Bill, aka HB99. This stands for "HomeBrewer". I started brewing in Aug 1994, but it was faster to type in "99" than "94". I brew most weekends. I have my own brewing kitchen and storage area in the basement. As well as a beer fridge and a kegerator that taps 2 - 5 gallon kegs. I have a keezer (in the garage) that holds 8 kegs. Also a member of Homebrewtalk.com ([email protected]) although I haven't been active there in a while.
Location: Small village east of the Quad Cities, IL.
Skill level: My WSM Smoker (22.5") is scheduled to arrive this Monday (12/23/13).
Interests already mentioned in profile. They incude travel (I've vacationed in 49 (of the 57 States) missing Alaska, most of the southern provinces of Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico 2-3 times a year), lived in Germany 9 years, seen most of Europe as well as Turkey and So. Korea), photography, music (I play guitar), languages are always interesting. Aiming to add "master smoker" to the list soon.
We have 2 large gardens. Each are about the size of 3 garages sitting side by side. We grow the usual variety of veggies, but would like to add a larger variety of chili's for home made rubs. Growing, sharing (family and neighbors) and storing (canning, freezing, drying) take up a large part of summer along with mowing 2 acres. Most years we give away hundreds of pounds of veggies.
I've been researching, OK, "stalking", the threads for a while now. I've also just a viewed all the BBQ and WSM videos on YouTube. Sometimes a person can do too much research...it leads to confusion.
Anyway, I'll be looking forward to learning a lot here. Thanks for having me.
