We had a good family meal tonight, even though one of my two daughters is away at the cabin with grandma. I've been thinking about the cool array of yummy Sammies that
Mr. Bearcarver Bearcarver posted https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t...th-kraut-grilled-cheese-dogs-spam-sam.277892/ , so I did something about it! *triggered* ... must have sauerkraut..lol...

How the magic happens... behind the scenes...

From what I had on hand... two rolls sliced down the middle for a bun (fried in butter ), hot dogs with sauerkraut cooked in beer, S&P (and a little butter...... what?); homemade Mac'n'cheese (yes, there's butter in it :D); and Butter Beans simmered with bacon, S&P, and... yes... butter. It was a good, healthy, comforting meal.
During supper, I told my family about Mr. Bearcarver. I told them about how I read his advice on this very forum when I was choosing a smoker and how his advice made me feel like I could, maybe, be as good at smoking as him someday (and, somebody could give me advice if it all went horribly wrong...lol). I told them about his service to our country and how cool it is to be on a forum with someone who had done that for US, for our country! I told them about the big list of things he had smoked and how I want to try them. I told them about his great sense of humor, and about the lovely Mrs. Bear and all the great things they make and post together. I told them about Mr. Bear's bear carving... and my daughter may want a Bearcarver carved bear now...lol...(she went nuts when I showed her the little ones climbing on the railings there...).

We had a great night with a great dinner inspired by Mr. Bearcarver, and I just wanted to share it with everyone and say Thank You for the forum and Thank You to Mr. Bearcarver!

Great looking meal!
I’m sure Mr. Bearcarver has inspired many great meals. I know he has for me as well.

Good looking meal. And a good testimony to this forum. I love the advice that you get here but also the fact that you kind of get to know people that you have common interest with, that you wouldn’t know otherwise.

Kris you couldn't have picked a better person for inspiration. Bear is one of the best. Nice looking meal you made. It looks and sounds great.

Point for sure.

Wow, Kris!!
Now you got me Blushing!

Great looking meal you got there, and Thank You for all the compliments & Kind words!!
Like.

Always Glad when I'm able to help,
Bear

BTW: Sorry I'm seeing this so late. Had a bad day yesterday, losing Power for 10 hours, and found that mice chewed wires off in my Honda 3000is generator.

I think a lot of us have been inspired by the Bear. That's a good looking meal. Nice job Kris and cheers to you Bear!

Thanks. It's great to find yourself in the company of good people, and why not let them know you appreciate them? It's a small way to show my respect and appreciation.

Good looking meal and well said Kris. I have made more than few things on his list (you gotta try the cornbread!) , and he has been more than willing to help me out when I have had a question or an issue.

- Although, if he would share his and Mrs. Bear's good looking food with the mice, they may be less inclined to eat the wiring on his generator! :D

After all the other comments it doesn't leave one much to say except ditto all of them. For sure he has inspired me.

Agreed!! Bear has been very helpful to myself and I appreciate it very much.

LOL---One time I tried to feed the mice some Mouse poison pellets. A couple days later I found they were storing the poison pellets in the grease drawer in the bottom of my MES. Now I have Steel Wool packed in the bottom drain to keep them from getting into my MES. They can eat some Steel wool if they're hungry. That should help their digestive track.

I think they're getting even for not being able to get in my house! They can only torment me in my garage & on my Porch.

And Thanks to All for the Nice Comments!

Bear
