The meat prices at a local meat market are the lowest Ive seen in quite some time.  I think I'll be doing some stocking up.  going to have to make some room for a couple prine ribs, a couple strip loins, and 40 lbs of b/s chicken breasts.check out the prices.

I've seen a couple postings lately that show low meat prices but I haven't seen too much price reduction out here in California.  And I've got 20+ lbs. of butt to smoke for our annual Christmas Eve party!  Wish I could find a deal somewhere.

Curt.

We scored some butts here in the peoples republic of Taxifornia for 1.17 per LB.  Had to buy 20 LBS, but that broke my heart.  I bought 40 at that price.  Cheapest I have seen in almost two years.

This is kind of a cheap time to buy in between the holidays.  There will be more sales, but on the beef at supermarkets it will almost always be Select grade.  I did get a Choice grade standing rib roast for our Christmas dinner at Costco. Cost a little more, but much better meat.

Good luck and good smoking.

Not much different here. I'm waiting for prime rib to go on sale. Last year it got down to $4.99 per pound.

Thats why I have 3 freezers in the garage. When meat goes on sale I do try to stock up and I got them all for free didn't hurt either. Now for bone in prime rib Winn Dixie had them on sale for 4.99 last year. Bone in is always the way to go for me.
