Aren't they just the greatest! We loved them! What temp and time did you use? You got a great crust on yours! We are thinking of doing them in our Dutch oven over the fire this weekend!

Ryan

I had in the oven at 400, and I think it was about 45 minutes, oiled up with the salt and pepper for about 15 minutes before going into the hot pan.
The DO over the flames sound good.
Are you guys doing a Renaissance rendezvous this weekend. It would be damp and cool around here for that.

These potatoes will happen again.

I think I really like potatoes, think I will try more ways to cook them.... lol

Well Jason millerbuilds millerbuilds . I said I like your idea of the potatoes back at the top of this post on March 18th.
I kind of forgot about it , and than Ryan @Brokenhandle mentioned it to me about how much he and his family really love it that way.

So I had to try it .

I washed the spuds, cut length ways, oiled and lots of salt and pepper both sides.
Through the CI pan in the oven oiled . Once hot I put the taters in cut side down, left until baked

These are some of the best Roasted Baked potatoes I have had, I can see many other ideas roasting potatoes in the pan in the oven.

Here is a couple shots of the roasted baked I had with a big mess of ribs. This is about the potatoes.

Just flipped when I brought them out of the oven, just to see, Love the crunchy skins all way around

Thanks Jason for the idea, and Thanks Ryan for the reminder.

Love these.

David,
Looks perfect!
Since trying this a couple of years ago, we have never baked potatoes any other way. We also like to preheat a CI and use the air fryer setting on our Breville oven, which takes it up another couple of notches!!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Ryan,
Yes they are. In the regular oven we bake them at 400, in the air fryer we run it at 385. Turn out perfect every time.

David, we do the same and add some garlic powder and onion powder to the S&P. I also have some "black & red" pepper mix that I like to add on mine to bring heat a bit.

i can see why this is the only way for your baked potato.
They are very good, so in the air fryer , you use no oil on the potatoes ?

I mentioned to Ryan that I can see so many other things for the potato in the CI.

Your spices sound good, I was also thinking , baked / roasted this way then maybe make it a loaded . With bacon onion and cheese. I will have to play with my potato, lol

David,
We flip them over and toss on some bacon, butter and cheese and put back in the oven for 3-4 minutes then add some sour cream and chives.
It is a beautiful thing!
