Mudduck is right - the price of the original foodsaver on Ebay is going through the roof.

That's why I feel like I hit the lottery this past week. This little beauty arrived on Wednesday and I actually spent less than my upper limit.

It's also good to know that there are resources here at the SMF that can help with repair advice, etc. One last note - I couldn't resist trying to vacupack an aluminum can - I think the foodsaver would have crushed it more but I didn't want to risk getting a hole poked in the foodsaver bag.

Hey I am highjacking your thread .. we are going to be in Denton this Saturday @ UNT for a track meet . My son is racing in it . Pm if you want to hollar at us .... around 7pm ish is when he runs .

I'm not too happy with food saver because the zip bags i bought from them on sale don't work at all the gallon or the quart, Ive seen other people saying the same thing, the ones that came with my vac worked great.

Well i emailed foodsaver and they quickly resolved my problem so i guess i should have emailed them awhile back. Good customer service!!!

Although these units say Foodsaver on them, they are the Vacupack. There is a big differance between a new Foodsaver, and Vacupack. Therefore anything that can pump water without damaging it should be called, or thought of as a vacupack, and not a foodsaver. Just my opinion. By the way I do own a Foodsaver, and they are good machines. They just can't handle any liquids, which limits thier use.
