Just getting into smoking after a decade and a half of tearing up grills and dabbling in smokes on my 26" Webber kettle. Honest to god smoking though is kicking my a **... it's embarrassing.

Got a free 16" Grill Pro Deluxe (deluxe... riiiight) and turkey legs came out creosoted up. White billowy smoke only, crappy fire control, never able to get above 170.

Reading through half a dozen different threads, I think I'm in need of some mods to get better air control, consistently hotter fire, and learn a bit better when to finally put the meet on.

Thoughts, suggestions? Aside from just buying a better smoker, LOL.

Welcome to the forum!  I'm not familiar with your smoker, but I love my Weber WSM!  It was $299 and off i went!  I had a Weber kettle forever, still do, and the WSM completes me!  Just my 2 cents!
