Well, after looking through this forum and others getting ideas, I decided to take the plunge and build my first reverse flow smoker. I started out with a 6' 1" 20inch pipe. Then made a couple of trips to the metal shop. I've been taking pictures as I go. Please feel free to give me some recommendations.

Glad I'm still in shape... Pipe weighs 72lbs per foot

I had the pipe cut when I picked it up... 51" Chamber, 22" FB

Pipe is 3/8" thick

Okay... I know I need to practice on my welding.

Got started on the frame

I was thinking the same thing, so
I welded the hinges on before I cut the doors out all the way. One of them did pop up about 1/16th.... I'll post more pics later today

Good thinking, if the cooker and doors both spring then they might stay the same! Lol. Maybe this will b the new thing!

Would like to hear how you solve this...

Was able to make some good progress last over the passed 2 weeks... I'll keep the pics coming!

Nice, Looking Good    How thick is your RF plate ?

gary

Getting closer

How did you go about cutting the contour on the top of the legs?

I used one of the endcaps to mark it off. It got me really close. My endcaps were cut on a plasma CNC

Was at a scrap yard today....they had a boatload of 20" pipe.....hmmmm

Update: Didn't like the way the counter weights worked so, I changed them. ...

Didn't post a pic of the racks after I finished. ... they'll do
