First time smoker

Hi folks. I just got a Pit Barrel Cooker smoker for Christmas and am looking forward to trying it out. Temps here in Chicago have been in the single digits, so I've been holding off. I hopping to get something on it this eeekend, though. I've read a number of posts about the PBC,but if anyone has any advice or tips, I'd love to hear them.
