First time Smoker......i.e. A ROOKIE

Hello, my name is Gary and I'm a rookie when it comes to smoking anything.  I live in Montana and enjoy trout fishing and I'm learning to enjoy smoking meats.  Providing I can get better at it. 

I bought, not knowing which to buy, a CharBroil BBQ and Grill which is a smoker as well.  I've used it exactly 3 times, 2 of which came out way over cooked but the third time my Tri-Tip came out really good I thought.

There is so much to learn about smoking meats but thats why I signed up for this club.  Believe me I can only get better so any advice will be taken to heart and applied if possible.
