Newbie to the pellet smoking world here. Been smoking meat in a vertical propane smoker for about 6 years. I am looking for any pointers from others who have similar smokers. Also, ive seen some modification videos out there for the sear plate and a front shelf. Wondering what other mods are potentially worth while to look into. Thanks guys!

Welcome to the pellet world, I have the same smoker, only thing I have done is use it, I have a smoke tube and use it when I do smokes on big stuff, butts turkeys ect…, no problems other than a couple of plug in temp probes going bad, I don't think I would have liked any other 1 more, wifi might be a upgrade at some point, I run it all night with no problems, I bought a inkbird 6 probe therm that's blue tooth, I can set high and low alarms along with done alarms. they are a sponsor here and have been very generous with discount codes, I also got a SV unit from them that I like really well also. there are some threads about pellets, never had any bad but have had some that are better, They host pictures here so no photo bucket needed, Cook often and post when you can, we all enjoy others creations, well mostly lmao.

I have a PB 1000SC. I wish I could have gotten the Austin at the time (couldn't find one any where). The Austin has a much better grease drip tray. Follow the instructions especially on cleaning the unit and you will enjoy it! Have fun and make sure to show off your cooks.
