Smoking first Boston butt and not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Put meat in at 1:30 pm at 225. It is now 10:40 pm and internal temperature is only 159. Is this normal?? How long cooking time for pulled pork?

How big is the butt?

We usually figure about 2 hours per pound at 225.

Are you going by the factory gauge to determine the smoker temp?

The factory gauge can be off by 50 degrees or more, so you could be smoking at 175 & think your at 225.

Anyhow I'm sure it's done by now, so how did it turn out?
