Glad to hear of the helping rains. Will be a relief for the many people involved in fighting the different blazes, they've got to be worn out.

First, A big shout out to Mother Nature!!!! A little late with her assistance, but the help is appreciated none the less.

The rain should also help clear/filter the air making breathing a little easier for all folks living and working in the area.

Like what to cook for supper or do I want 1 rum and coke or 2 . Nice just to have some humor again .
My vote is two, maybe even three.

Mother nature is the one that puts outs large fires. Here in BC man try's to put them out but usually just controls a bit of the fire. Rains and lots of it is what it takes here we are super dry also. Snow is 90% gone from the mountains, so scary what July and August will bring.

Yes you are right , this is a very welcome thing, it has been a good thing just for us and we are on the outside. So I bet the ones close to the fires and fighting them are very happy for the help.

They are saying that they will be on sight for quite awhile to make sure all the nooks and cranny's are well looked at.

Yes thanks to mother nature for sure, now we are under a weather warning for the next 2 days as we are expecting 50 - 75 mm of rain by Tuesday.
That should help wet up the ground .

There was a couple adult pops had , and a good nights sleep.

Over to a friends house last night for a visit, and a person at his work said his street lost every house but his, but might have to be taken down anyway.
Most windows were blown out or broke and the siding and shingles quite melted from the heat. And I imagine the smoke damage inside would be bad also.

He will not know until closer look, as no one is allowed in to the burnt areas yet to actually stay, they did a few escorted bus tours to look at the damage for the ones from the burn areas.

Sad Sad Sad

I hear you Hank, makes since, and the snow was part of our problem also. We did not really have much of a winter. 2 or 3 good storms but no real snow in the woods like we normally would have in the spring and hardly our normal wet spring .

But like I mentioned , we are getting the rain ( thank Mother Nature ) rain warning until Tuesday and rain all week.
We will except it with a smile

Sunday afternoon update :

Our fires near us are 100% contained , but still burning and will be quite awhile until they call it finished.

With much thanks to all the folks , Departments from all over. Provincial , rest of Canada , USA, and Australia, New Zealand and South Africa
Costa Rica, etc. and more that I might have missed.

Our fire in the south is still burning, but the rain is helping,

Shelburne County, N.S., received its first bout of rainfall since the record-breaking wildfire, which now covers approximately 250 square kilometres.

Moisture from Friday night and periods of heavy rain Saturday helped clear some of the smoke, which allowed firefighters to get into the fire zone and work on containment measures.

Now a lot of concern for the fires in Quebec, as a lot are out of control there

Again thank you ( Smoking meat forum, SMF )members for all the concern during this time of stress and anxiety for Mona and I.

We are fine and still safe in our own home.
Many are not and it will be a long time for some to get back to their property and start to rebuild.

David and Mona

Steve H Steve H Glad to hear it David! Though my wishes go out to the others effected by. Or could be. By these fires.

Thanks Steve,

I I think this will be a bad year in most places as it is only first of June, with a light winter and dry spring

Prayers to all that were and might be affected

David
